Postojna Caves in Slovenia

Postojna caves have more than 100 metres underground, these ever-changing caves are spectacular!

Postojna Caves! Wow! The caves are home to various creatures so make sure you visit the “vivarium” to check out these aquatic animals.

Something to think about – I wore 5 layers of clothing as I feel the cold.  Postojna Caves are between 8-10 degrees and if you take your time, you may be in the cave system for over an hour! The train ride into the depths of the caves was lots of fun with some areas lit up by enormous crystal chandeliers.  The walk through the labyrinth of rock formations is just amazing.  I really liked the information from the guide, it was very informative and was spoken in so many different languages that no one missed out. At the end of the tour we ended up in a giant cavern where our guide sang an impromptu tune! The acoustics were incredible.
