Soca River in Slovenia Europe

Another incredible day here near Soca River in Slovenia, loving this country!

We took off with Uros’ mum, to go and explore the Soca river in Slovenia.  The Soča River is a 138-kilometre long river that flows through western Slovenia to north-eastern Italy and is considered to be one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe. Soca rivers water flows across various small waterfalls, cascading through narrow rocky gorges, carving surprising canyons and pools. The photos cover an area of 10kms within what’s known as the Kobarid region. The walk along the Soca river was breath-taking, picturesque and insanely beautiful and don’t do the amazing emerald green colour enough justice. It was so peaceful to sit and watch the Soca river in full use with fishermen fly-fishing and kayakers exploring its reaches. The famous Soča trout attract fishermen from all over the world, so I was hoping we’d see one caught, sadly not while we were there. The Soca river and its tributaries attract wildlife adventurers seeking not just kayaking, but wild water kayaking, rafting, canyoning etc. Unbelievable to think the water temperature even at this time of year is still only 10 degrees Celsius! We crossed the wodden bridge over the Soca river, and even though it’s only 15m above the water, my fear of heights saw me clinging to Uros. In my mind I thought if it broke it would be a softer but freezing fall! I was so proud of myself when I made it to the other side.
