Our journey takes us through Otocec and the charming 13^th century Otocec castle. Learn how Slovenia’s only river castle survived from Roman times, through the Renaissance period and the Second World War.

Enjoy the serenity of the castle gardens; look for abundant wildlife such as swans, native bird species and you may even spy a cheeky fish or two.

Welcome to your first full day in the Kamnik region, founded c1229. Be prepared to take in the awe-inspiring scenery of the Kamnik Alps, the rushing waters of pristine rivers as it carves through this astounding gorge.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast we will set off for Velika Planina-Big pasture at 1,500m for fresh air, sunshine and step back in time when you meet Peter a local shepherd, as he shares his stories of how it was for the very first European shepherds.
Imagine Alpine Peaks and lush green valleys on all sides accompanied by the sounds and stories of the past. Too magical to leave.

This afternoon awaits with the lure of Kamniska Bistrica and her bright clear Alpine waters that bubble and snake through a curved 30m gorge. Have your camera ready!
Return with us to Kamnik’s old town and discover the story of Veronika-half woman, half snake. Will all be revealed?

Following a short drive from Kamnik to Lake Bled, relax with a lightly chilled glass of local wine onboard our traditional Slovenian “pletna”.
Breathe in iconic views as we glide across Lake Bled for our first surprise of the day, the historic Island of Bled.  Experience the quaint atmosphere of the 15th century church, or be brave and test yourself in the traditional Slovenian way.  Carry your loved one up the 99 ancient steps leading towards the church to prove you are worthy of their adoration.

Take a 20 min hike with us up a small hill and visit our ‘secret’ lookout. Here you will experience magical views – romantic, pristine and untouched.

Picture yourself overlooking the cool green-blue waters of Lake Bled. Ponder on days gone by, those who lived for centuries in the surrounding mountains and medieval castle.

Indulge your childhood senses with at least one of Slovenia’s local delicacies, Kremsnita, a mouth-watering creamy vanilla slice from Bled’s most highly acclaimed Patisserie.
You don’t need to stop with just one!

You are now ready to explore and enjoy the exquisite surroundings at your leisure. Step back in time with a horse and rustic open carriage ride and discover the unique Slovenian traditions handed down father to son; or simply mix with the locals and look for some one-of-a-kind mementos to take home.

Together we get off the beaten track and visit Lake Bohinj, a charming lake with a secret. It has been said that the lake never looks the same two days in a row, always beautiful, yet different.
Lakes Bled and Bohinj were carved by an ancient glacier at the end of the last Ice Age providing a once in a lifetime touch of beauty you will never forget.
Join our brief fun hike to Savica waterfall and you may unravel the secrets of the magnificent glacier.
An afternoon cable car experience to Vogel (weather permitting) is sure to thrill with expansive views over the lake and valleys – breathtaking and photo ready!
Tonight, be spoiled with a magnificent Slovenian dinner, but be sure to leave room for the delicious homemade chocolate delicacies on offer.

Immerse yourself in the era of knights, tournaments, battles and intrigue when we travel to the Predjama Fortress, a medieval miracle perched in the middle of the rocky cliffs for over 800 years.
Learn of the history surrounding the renowned robber Barron Erasmus Predjamski. Can you solve the mystery of his death?

After a day full of excitement, we will arrive to Slovenia’s famous wine region, Goriska Brda.

Our Host tonight is Uros, famous for his mouth-watering prosciutto. Relish aged treats, 55 months in the making, with define accompaniments from his traditional Slovenian larder.
